Nicole Richie throws son Spider-Man bash

Nicole Richie threw her son a star-studded Spider-Man-themed birthday bash.

The Fashion Star's boy with Good Charlotte Rocker husband Joel Madden turned four recently and enjoyed a party in the style of the comic book character on Saturday.

Sparrow's get together took place at the family's home in Laurel Canyon, California.

"They had Spider-Man balloons and a big banner for Sparrow where guests were arriving," a source told E! News. "There was a valet in the driveway and everyone pulled up and got out there."

Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren along with their daughters Honor and Haven plus Gwen Stefani with her son Zuma were among celebrity guests, according to the insider.

Kourtney Kardashian and jewellery designer Jen Meyer with her kids Ruby and Otis were additionally in attendance.

"Joel was in the driveway greeting people and then leading them out into the backyard," the eyewitness continued. "The party was outside by the pool and a lot of kids went swimming while the parents watched.

"It was a hot day and everyone was having a lot of fun cooling off and splashing in the water. The party lasted all afternoon and people stayed for a few hours before leaving."

Nicole is also parent to five-year-old daughter Harlow and recently told WhoWhatWear about her mother's beauty regime for her as a child.

"My mom never let me leave the house without lotion and oil," she revealed. "Stay hydrated, too!"

The trendsetter has built an empire surrounding her incredible fashion sense. Her lines include the popular Winter Kate clothing range and House of Harlow accessories.

She also let fans in on the one item a girl should wear on first date occasions.

"A black mini dress," she shared. "[I'd eat] Sushi [every day]... and if someone wants to sneak a pizza in, I'd be fine with that too."
