Ozzy Osbourne calls in Police

Ozzy Osbourne has sparked a full-scale police investigation after he was conned into thinking that he was to receive a top Canadian honour.

The rock legend-turned-reality TV star thought he had been sent a letter from the Canadian Prime Minister, Paul Martin, and agreed to talk to the leader over the phone about accepting the mysterious 'Eternal Canadian Youth' award.

But once Ozzy started talking to the man he thought was Martin, he became convinced it was an elaborate hoax.

In the latest episode of 'The Osbournes' which screened in the US on Tuesday (April 13), Ozzy is shown calling in his aides to check out the authenticity of the phone call and letter.

After discovering the whole episode was indeed a prank, the singer alerted Canadian and Los Angeles police who are currently trying to solve the mystery of who the prankster actually is.

A spokesman for Ozzy said: "That letter and email and phone call were a hoax. The police are going to be proceeding with trying to prosecute these people because they've actually put the Prime Minister's signature on the document, which is highly illegal, and he can be imprisoned for up to 15 years."

Ozzy himself is taking the event very seriously. "It could be an assassin or something," MTV.com report him as saying.
