Rapper P Diddy has been ordered to pay £19,671 a month in child support for his 10-year-old son.
His ex-partner Misa Brim applied through the courts to have payments increased from £1,570.
A judge said his decision was based on an annual income of £28.1m in the absence of sufficient evidence of his true earnings.
Lawyers for P Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, said they would be appealing against the amount.
"This is a gross abuse of discretion by the court. We are confident it will be overturned on appeal," said his lawyer Stephen Gassman.
"This is not about child support, it's about adult support. Any increase in support will be likely utilised to enhance Misa Brim and her two other children's lifestyle rather than in any way benefit Mr Combs' already well-provided for son," he added.
The pop star's legal team had argued that a 1996 agreement over payments should be allowed to stand, even though Combs himself had increased the amount to £3,097.
The Westchester County Family Court judge also ordered the rapper to pay £223,665 to cover retrospective medical and education expenses, plus legal fees.
The lawyer acting for Ms Brim, Brett Kimmel, believes the child support payments could be the highest court-ordered ones in the country.
Ms Brim said Combs had boasted of being a billionaire and of paying $35,000 a month support for another son.
