Troubled Brit rocker Pete Doherty has reportedly been told to leave a drug rehabilitation facility in Thailand.
NME report that the former Libertines frontman and notorious "partier" Pete Doherty has been booted out of a Thai rehab facility for being a bad influence on the other patients.
They quote a Daily Mail interview with the director of The Cabin in Chiang Mai, Alastair Mordey, saying, "Pete was discharged today for therapeutic reasons. It is important to maintain the integrity of the treatment programme for the other clients to have a good chance of recovery. Pete understands this and therefore the reasons behind why we have asked him to leave."
Mordey continued, "Although our parting with Pete is amicable, we are of course disappointed to see him leave. We hope some of the things he has learnt here will help him in the future and look forward to the day when Pete decides to consider recovery again."
Doherty has been battling drug addiction for a decade, regularly attending rehabilitation facilities and occasionally being arrested for drug possession. He has served prison sentences for possession, theft, and driving under the influence.
