Primal Scream were victorious at this year's Vodafone Live Music Awards, presented by Juliette Lewis and Steve Jones, picking up the top two awards.
Brixton's Carling Academy was packed to the rafters last night with celebs and music fans to celebrate the best of this year's live music.
Now in its third year, the event saw performances from Estelle, Will Young, Glasvegas, James Morrison and Pussycat Dolls – with Lewis Hamilton watching from the wings.
The Ting Tings kicked off the show with That's Not My Name and later picked up the XFM Live Breakthrough Award. Mark Ronson was crowned Best Male, Kate Nash Best Female and Take That bagged the Sony Ericsson Tour of the Year award. Emma Bunton was on hand to receive the Best Live Return award on behalf of the Spice Girls, who beat off stiff competition from The Verve and Led Zeppelin.
But the night undoubtedly belonged to Primal Scream who picked up the top two awards – Best Live Act and Outstanding Contribution to Live Music. 'That'll do,' said Mani before the band took to the stage for a closing performance of Can't Go Back, Rocks and Beautiful Future – the title track of their latest album.
The awards will be premiering on 4Music on Friday September 19 at 9pm, then on Channel 4 on Saturday September 20 at 10am and 11:25pm.
