Professor Green played a storming set at Somerset House last night (08.07.11).
The rapper played his biggest London show yet to an adoring crowd that included his on off girlfriend, 'Hollyoaks' actress Candy McCulloch, and admitted he was overwhelmed to be on stage at the prestigious venue.
He said: "I can't believe that a boy like me is playing Somerset House - this has been the most crazy 18 months of my life."
Among the highlights of the show - part of the venue's Summer Series of concerts - were cover versions of Beyonce Knowles' 'Crazy in Love', Jay-Z's 'Big Pimpin'' and fellow British rapper Dizzee Rascal's 'Fix Up Look Sharp'.
The covers were mixed with material from his forthcoming second album and hits including 'I Need You Tonight', 'Just Be Good To Green' and 'Jungle'.
Following a dubstep remix of 'Monster' for the encore, the rapper was thrilled by the crowd's response and took a swipe at his critics.
He said: 'The Evening Standard said in the paper tonight that I'm cartoon rap - does this look like cartoon rap to you? F**k the Evening Standard!'
He signed off the evening with his new single 'Read All About It' and the last track on his debut album 'Goodnight'.
