Day said in a press release "This music brings back so many memories, my dear friends who appeared on screen with me, all the wonderful animals, and of course, my darling son Terry whom I miss so much."
Sammy Hagar, currently wrapping up a short tour with Chickenfoot, told Rolling Stone that he doesn't expect he would be part of the Van Halen reunion for the Grammy nomination concert. "If Van Halen play, it will be Dave, Eddie, Alex, and Wolfie, his kid – it wouldn't be Mike [Anthony] and I. First of all, we wouldn't be invited and second of all, if we were invited, we probably wouldn't do it. If Eddie is in the same condition he was the last time I saw him, I don't want to step onstage with him."

Mike Mills has told Spin magazine that the R.E.M. split has been under consideration for three years. "There was no moment of clarity. We had an opportunity to do something that nobody else has really done — a band that has been together for a long time without any sort of bad things prompting the breakup. We started discussing it and came to realize that we all agreed."
