Country singer Randy Travis has been moved from a hospital to a rehabilitation facility for further treatment from a serious stroke.
The Tennessean is reporting that Travis was taken from The Heart Hospital Baylor in Plano, TX to an unidentified rehabilitation facility. How long Travis will be treated at the facility is unknown. The only indication of the severity of the stroke came a little over two weeks ago when Randy's doctors said that he was expected to be there "for months."
Travis' problems started on Sunday, July 7 when he was admitted to Baylor McKinney Hospital and immediately put on life support for a weakened heart muscle that was caused by a recent virus. A small pump was implanted in the heart to help in blood flow and he was transferred to The Heart Hospital Baylor.
Just as things appeared to be getting better, Travis suffered a serious stroke and had to have brain surgery to relieve the blockage in his brain. While the location of the blood clot and how it has effected him has not been announced, the comment about months of rehabilitation leads us to believe that there was some serious damage that occurred.
Randy's fiancee, Mary Davis, said in a statement "Thanks to all the fans and friends for your continued prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery."
