It's the place where Ray Charles made his magic.
Charles' recording studio in Los Angeles opened briefly to the public this week in connection with the release of his new album, "Genius Loves Company." Producer John Burk says some of the microphones are still set up from Charles' duet with Gladys Knight, which appears on the album. Burk says Charles was very hands-on about who he wanted to be guests on the album and virtually everyone said yes.
A book about Charles, "Brother Ray" by David Ritz, comes out this month.
