Ray J is said to be seeking counselling following Whitney Houston's death.
The record producer was reportedly dating Whitney before she passed away in a Los Angeles hotel room last month aged 48.
The 31-year-old attended the star's funeral, where he was seen reaching up to touch her casket before being comforted by his sister Brandy as he cried in a pew.
Brandy, 33, has urged her little brother to seek help for his grief and he has agreed to see a mental health professional, sources told RadarOnline.
"Ray J is obviously absolutely devastated by the loss of Whitney, who he says was the love of his life," a source close to the situation said.
"Even though a month has passed since she died, Ray still can't believe that Whitney is gone. He has saved voicemail messages on his cell phone from her that he has been listening to."
The source adds Brandy has been a big support for her brother throughout his loss. Brandy is also grieving as she was a good friend of the I singer.
"Ray is just numb and he needs to be able to start to deal with these feelings. Brandy and her brother are extremely close, and she has been a rock for him in the weeks since Whitney died," the source said.
"However, Brandy is also dealing with a huge loss, as she worked with Whitney professionally, and loved her like an older sister. Brandy recognises that she can only help her brother so much. Ray has promised Brandy he will see someone, however, knowing how [in] charge Brandy is, she will probably find a mental health professional and make the arrangements for him."
Ray has reportedly also told his family he can't stand listening to Whitney's version of I Will Always Love You as it is too painful. He is also said to be having a tough time accepting she is gone.
"What people don't realise is how much Ray loves Whitney, he never refers to her in the past tense. He just doesn't know what to do with the huge void in his life," the insider said. Whitney's family, including her 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, are also working through their grief.
Whitney's cause of death won't be known until toxicology tests come back, but she battled alcohol and drug addiction throughout her life.
