Reese Witherspoon allegedly has 'no connection to the real world'.
The 'Mud' actress - who was charged for disorderly conduct on April 19, after confronting a police officer who had arrested her husband Jim Toth on suspicion of DUI in Atlanta, Georgia - is reportedly a very different person in private and has a wild side.
A source told People magazine that the 37-year-old actress 'is a southern sorority girl to her core.'
The insider added: 'She got discovered young, she got pregnant and married young, and has no connection to the real world. With her, what happens in public and what happens is private is very different.
'She's actually the real girl next door, not the cliched girl next door.'
The source also claimed that the mother-of-three, who has a 13-year-old daughter Ava and nine-year-old son Deacon with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, as well as an eight-month-old son Tennessee with Jim, always liked 'guys with an edge.'
CAA agent Jim 'was on his best behaviour' when he first started dating the actress but 'things started to change last year.'
The source added: 'Jim gets very loud and obnoxious when he drinks, and it's embarrassing for Reese.
'He's totally himself with her now, which means he can be a party animal again.'
But the source insisted that the couple, who are due in court on May 22, are extremely close and will weather the storm, saying: 'This isn't going to break up their marriage. It was a really bad decision on both of their parts. They're evaluating that and will make damn sure it doesn't happen again.'
