From the 23-26th October, Battersea Power Station in London will be transformed into a real life ski resort featuring the biggest real snow jump ever made in the UK-(the equivalent to seven London buses stacked up) and with a live music line up to match. The World's best snowboarders and skiers will descend on the banks of the River Thames to take part in the highest profile snow and music festival ever seen in the UK.
FSO4 Freeze Sponsored by LG is excited to announce more bands confirmed to liven up your nights at the Battersea Power Station. Just added to the bill are the Sheffield based Reverend And The Makers playing songs from their UK top 10 album The State Of Things. They will be main support to The Enemy on Friday 24th October. Alongside this announcement is Scottish indie rockers Sergeant who will be fresh off supporting Oasis on their upcoming tour.
Other acts set to play in the 10,000 capacity live music arena on the banks of the power station is indie anthem giants The Enemy, Cardiff rockers The Automatic, New Wave Hollywood exports Iglu & Hartly as well as The Cuban Brothers and The Anomalies. Completing the highly anticipated first announcement is Haunts, Cage The Elephant, Trouble Andrew, Les Gars, Annie Mac (DJ)I Say Marvin and Underground Heroes.
Headlining on Thursday 23rd October is Hip Hop/ Funk outfit The Cuban Brothers. Having began cruising the UK club scene with their passionate attitude to partying and performing, the Brothers quickly moved up the ranks reaping huge respect world over. Their unique and comedic approach to live shows is the perfect ice breaker for an action packed 4 days at FSO4 Freeze.
The Enemy is currently in the studio working on the follow up to 2007's 'We'll Live and Die in These Towns' which went all the way to No 1 in the UK album chart. Fresh from appearances at the mighty Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals the band are ready to take on the winter beginning with a Headline slot on Friday 24th October at FSO4 Freeze. Topping of an action packed day of international level Skiing we couldn't be happier with the confirmation of a band at the top of their game. Also joining the Friday bill is Welsh four piece The Automatic, currently reaping the success of their most recent studio release 'This Is A Fix'
Iglu & Hartly, in their own words are a "world of hope driven by heavy synth. A world soaked in beer and sweat, borne from heart and soul." The LA formed five piece is a new wave blend of pop and hip hop. Current single 'In This City' has received rave reviews across the board and is gracefully filling radio air waves around the world. The band said "We're looking forward to the snowboarding event as we enjoy snowboarding as a band…I'm also looking forward to practising a 270 to frontside board hop!". Their Saturday 25th October slot at FSO4 Freeze will mark an inevitable future on the UK festival circuit for years to come.
In addition to the music there will be mountain parties and an opportunity for VIPs to get the best in 'après ski' in the LG Lounge, where you can chill and watch the competition in comfort.
Other attractions will include a genuine ski village with shops lining the main resort 'high street' With all this going on there is absolutely no reason to miss out on the only pre season event in the UK.
