Former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft chucked a hissy fit and stormed off stage at Splendour In The Grass on the weekend after just one song.
Ashcroft was performing with his band United Nations of Sound at the same time The Pixies and Empire of the Sun were playing to much bigger crowds at other parts of the music festival.
The official word from the Ashcroft camp was that the singer had lost his voice. He threw his tambourine on the ground at the end of the first song and told the small gathering that actually did come over to see him to head over to the Pixies instead.
He then jumped in a car and drove off in a chauffeur driven huff.
Ashscroft was touring Australia for the first time.
