Rick Ross doesn't usually address his drama in the media all willy nilly, but during a Monday night radio interview, the Maybach Music boss had quite a few things to get off his tattooed chest. First, Rozay wanted to make it clear that his MMG Tour cancelation had nothing to do with Internet gang threats, and then the God Forgives, I Don't MC went on to address his BET Hip Hop Awards run-in with rival Young Jeezy.
"When we crossed paths, I said 'Wassup,' as soon as he said 'wassup,' I tried to choke him," Ross point blank when sitting with 99 Jamz host Felisha Monet.
There has been conflicting accounts about what occurred between the two rap stars backstage at the award show, taped in Atlanta back on September 29. While Jeezy downplayed the incident, Ross says that things got a tad physical. That was before he claims the Snowman's security broke up the impending scuffle.
Rozay's rap protégé Gunplay also got into some drama of his own that same day when he got into a fight with members of 50 Cent's G-Unit crew. According to Ross, after the run-in with Jeezy, he and Gunplay got separated and that's when he ended up alone face-to-face with Fif's camp. "That's how he ended up in the trailers on the other by himself in that situation or we would've been there and that would've been a totally different story," he boasted.
"You gotta understand, with me it's nothing personal. I'm a hands-on-type dude. I'm better with my hands than I am at making music," he continued. "So it's not personal, but if I see Young Jeezy again, will I try to choke him? I don't know that's an option. If I see 50 Cent, is it personal? Not at all, but it's an option."
Instead, the "Hustlin' " rapper suggests that he and 50 can compete in the boxing world, where the G-Unit head now holds a promoter's license. This past weekend Fif's new fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa won a 12-round decision against Michael Farenas in the undercard to Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez's thrilling pay-per-view match. "I like that," Ross said congratulating 50 on the strides he's made in the sport. "I may let him get a one-year head start on me on that and next year I get in on that and we can beef on that too."
