The 50-year-old Office star and its creator thinks that unlike their American counterparts, kids from the UK are not encouraged to succeed, which he says is why he never wanted to be famous.
'As a working-class Brit I believed it was better to never try than risk failing,' he told The Sun.
'Americans believe they can be president. British kids are told, 'Don't be stupid. It won't happen for you'.'
He added that his new BBC2 comedy Life's Too Short is all about 'fame-hungry monsters that'll do anything to be on telly'.
