The 50-year-old Office star originally bought a flat on the ninth floor of The Barbizon in the Manhattan's posh Upper East Side neighbourhood.
And now he and long-time partner Jane Fallon have splashed out on another, three floors above, according to city records.
It boasts two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
The new 1,794-square-foot place was recently renovated, the listing notes, and features 'stunning open city views throughout'.
It also has two terraces, a washer/dryer and a private entrance to the Equinox gym with pool and spa, a listing reads.
Gervais, bought his first unit in 2008, paying $1.66 million USD [#1.1 million GBP pounds].
According to the New York Observer, that property has yet to be put on the market.
The newspaper jokes, '[That makes] us wonder if he plans to buy all three floors in between, perhaps turning it into a comedy club where cutting British humour is better appreciated.'
A spokesperson for real estate agent Corcoran did not return calls.
The Barbizon, a former residential hotel for women built in 1927, was once home to Grace Kelly, Candice Bergen and Liza Minnelli.
