The 49-year-old funnyman told TV host Ellen DeGeneres that he was almost disappointed that he was invited back because he had hoped his performance at last year's awards would be enough for him to be dropped.
He insisted that he will make amends this year with Sheen's wild antics making him almost too easy a target.
'I was very surprised they asked me back after some of the horrendous things I said,' he told Ellen.
'I think I must have done something wrong. This time I'm going to make sure they don't invite me back. I'm going to go all guns blazing.'
Asked if he 'edits himself' about what he will say, he laughed, 'I've got those two little voices - one says, 'Don't say that', the other one goes, 'Go on, see what happens'. That one usually wins.'
Ellen gave him a pair of golden underpants to wear at the awards and then spooked him with a staff member dressed as a spider.
