It seems Rihanna isn't very good at keeping a secret. Late Tuesday, she not only shared an additional collaboration on her album, Unapologetic, but also teased her duet with Chris Brown.
Hours after unveiling her track list for her November 19 album release, which will include appearances from the likes of Chris Brown and Eminem, the singer teased there's one more guy she nabbed for the release, dance music superstar David Guetta.
That same day, snippets from the album were released. And, sonically the album certainly picks up where 2011's Talk That Talk left off. Until now, fans have yet to see a music video from the album, but Rihanna's Navy will get a glimpse of the singer's Unapologetic side on Thursday. Rih Rih will introduce the exclusive world premiere for "Diamonds" on MTV and MTV.com on November 8 at 6:50 p.m. ET.
The album is grinding and aggressive, with softer songs to take the edge off. It has some unexpected moments, including her sampling Ginuwine's classic, "Pony," for her track, "Jump." Her track with Em, "Numb," is a genre-busting mid-tempo, with a pulsing beat and funky samples, where she sings "I'm going numb." Guetta's "Phresh Out The Runway" and "Right Now" are swirling dance-floor anthems, heavy on beats, dubstep and synths.
Perhaps the duet that has already garnered the most headlines is her track with Brown. Titled "Nobodies Business," it's an upbeat pop'n'b song full of 90's R&B swagger. Given all the controversy surrounding their relationship, the lyrics should raise eyebrows. On it Brown sings, "Me and you/ Said ain't no nobody's business" on repeat. Rihanna comes in, "Your love in perfection/It's point me in the right direction." She later sings, "I want to be your baby/ You'll always be my baby/ And sing it to the world/Baby give me some/I'm gonna be your girl/And it ain't nobody's business."
The feisty singer tweeted her excitement about working with Guetta on the album. She wrote, "There's another secret collab on #UNAPOLOGETIC Guess who is featured on the #7th song on #UNAPOLOGETIC, HINT: his birthday is tomorrow November #7th Its David phucking Guetta!!!!" she enthusiastically tweeted. "He also produced Fresh out the Runway, which y'all would NEVERRR believe!! He got that Hood shit too!!!"
The singer just completed work on the album this past Monday, with only two weeks until it hits retailers. "Man my album is complete, and I need a f---ing drink and a roll up! It was quite the journey, but it's all part of our story! #UNAPOLOGETIC," she wrote, after noting she had one last recording session over the weekend. In addition to Brown, Em and Guetta, the album will also include appearances from Future and Mikky Ekko.
