Rihanna was reportedly the last major celebrity to arrive at the Met Gala because she was getting a manicure.
The Umbrella star apparently kept Vogue editor Anna Wintour waiting for 40 minutes on Monday night leaving the fashion boss unimpressed.
The 62-year-old's temperament is well documented and was said to be the inspiration for Meryl Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada.
Britain's Daily Mirror reports that the 24-year-old starlet spent two hours getting her two-inch talons seen to in her Manhattan hotel suite.
After Beyoncé Knowles, Kanye West and Gwyneth Paltrow had all arrived, Anna thought everyone was there and ordered the red carpet be closed so the event could begin.
"Rihanna planned to walk the carpet with everyone else, but sadly, her nails and manicurist took far longer than expected," the insider told the publication.
"Her chauffeur was told to drive around the block several times, as she made last minute changes, but her 'people' didn't warn organisers she'd be late.
"She missed her slot on the red carpet and left Anna in a frenzy. The pair had a heated conversation during the champagne reception.
"Rihanna will not be invited to any of her future events any time soon."
