To coincide with the first of her record breaking 10 shows at London's 02 Arena - Rihanna released her new single We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris on Wednesday 4th October. It reached the #1 position on iTunes that same day and stormed straight to the top spot on the UK's Official single chart despite having only been on sale for 4 days. We Found Love clocked up 87,000 sales in just over half a week and meant Rihanna has scored a phenomenal 6 Number 1's in five consecutive years, a record unequalled by any other female solo artist.
The Bajan superstar Rihanna shows no sign of slowing down. Her fifth album Loud released November 14th 2010 has now sold more in the UK than any other territory in the world, is already at 1.7 million sales and continues to grace the top 25 nearly a year after its release. Loud spawned the #1 singles Only Girl (In The World) and What's My Name. 2010 was also the year that saw her passing the landmark of 10 million records sold in the UK and picking up her first BRIT Award.
We Found Love is Rihanna's 20th Top 20 single in the UK - the first of which was the worldwide smash Pon De Replay back in 2005. Rihanna also broke records in 2007 when she scored the longest-running #1 single since 1994 with Umbrella, topping the UK chart for a 10th week and equalled Whitney Houston's record for weeks at #1 of any female artist in history.
Rihanna doesn't just break records with her incredible albums - she also is one of the hottest live acts in the UK. Rihanna has sold over a staggering 300,000 tickets for her UK 'Loud' Tour and to celebrate this record breaking feat she recently added her 10th and final show at the O2 London on Tuesday 20th December 2011. Rihanna has broken the venue's record with ten shows, the longest ever for a solo female artist at The O2 arena since it opened in 2007.
Last but not least, Rihanna is the #1 female artist on Facebook with over 45 million fans (http://www.facebook.com/rihanna).
