Rihanna has ruled out recent speculation that she will star in 'The Bodyguard' remake.
The singer, who has been added to this year's V festival line-up, has denied that she is in the running to replace Whitney Houston in the remake of the 1992 film starring Kevin Costner.
''Absolutely not. I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else. I want to play a character, my whole life is playing Rihanna, being a singer won't be a stretch for me," Rihanna told OK magazine.
She added: I like challenges and being an actor is playing a role, being able to step into somebody else's shoes. That's the excitement.''
Other musicians rumoured to be in line for the role include Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
