Rihanna's ex-boyfriend insists she has no intention of settling down anytime soon.
The 23-year-old dated fellow Barbadian Negus Sealey before she became famous and the pair always spend time together when she goes home.
Negus, 27, says although Rihanna has romanced a series of guys since her split from Chris Brown, she does not want to commit.
"She doesn't have time for anything serious with any guy," Negus told British newspaper The Daily Mail. "I figured it was like a deeply embedded ambition in her to be a star – that's what my first impression was, that she was actually destined to be something great.
"She never told me personally that she wanted to be a star but I could pick it up from her posture, her singing and how seriously she took everything."
Rihanna has previously dated baseball star Matt Kemp and rapper Drake. Negus just feels lucky that he gets to see her a few times a year.
"She would be the perfect girlfriend, and of course I fancy her – what guy wouldn't? But I am so lucky to have spent so much time with her and will always consider her to be a close personal friend," he revealed.
But Negus has strong words for Rihanna's ex Chris and was distraught when he heard the singer assaulted her back in 2009.
"He seemed cool when I first met him, but what he did was wrong. I didn't appreciate it much obviously because she's a friend of mine but I think she's moved on," he revealed. "But what he did was horrible. It was terrible. I felt upset when that happened."
However, Negus added that he will always be there for Rihanna as treasures the fact that he was her first love.
"Quite frankly, I'm pretty proud just to be friends with her, and I will always be her for her in Barbados," he gushed.
