Pardon Rihanna for having a wee bit of a potty mouth.
The pop star was hanging backstage after the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards with MTV News correspondent Jim Cantiello, being interviewed on her big win for Video of the Year, when she let a naughty word slip out.
"I had an incredible night," she said. "This was definitely top notch from beginning to end. I walked away with a Moonman! The Moonman. Your Moonman ain't got sh-- on my Moonman!" Then innocently added, "Sorry, was that a bad word?"
Her fans will likely cut her some slack. Her win came on the heels of a big night for her, Drake and Chris Brown. Rihanna collected the night's biggest award for her "We Found Love" clip, Brown's "Turn Up the Music" won Best Male Video, and Drake's "HYFR" (featuring Lil Wayne) took Best Hip-Hop Video.
Sporting a new, chic pixie haircut, Rihanna opened the VMAs with A$AP Rocky and their "Cockiness" remix before going into her big hit "We Found Love."

And MTV.com's "All Access Live" cameras caught the moment when she hugged former boyfriend Brown before patting him on the head.
The image of their embrace was immediately uploaded to Instagram. The moment happened just weeks after Rihanna sat down with Oprah Winfrey and talked about her former and current relationship with Brown, saying they're just friends now. She admitted in the interview that he was the "love of my life."
Backstage after her big win, Rihanna also thanked the network: "This is big! Thank you guys so much. I love you. MTV has been so supportive. I could not have been here without MTV's support."
