Rihanna in home invader horror

Rihanna's home was reportedly targeted by intruders over the weekend.

The pop star was in Australia when the attempted break-in at her Pacific Palisades mansion in California took place. According to TMZ, someone drove up the private road to her $12 million property and tried to enter. The would-be burglars reportedly walked to the backyard and threw a chair through a sliding glass door.

However, law enforcement sources tell the website that Rihanna's alarm system probably scared the intruders away because they left without stepping inside her house.

The singer's property is watched by a series of security cameras, and there is even a sign reading 'Smile, you're on camera' at the entrance to her private road.

Police are still on the hunt for those responsible for the failed break-in.

This isn't the first time Rihanna's home has been targeted by unwanted visitors.

Her security team detained a man trespassing on her property in June. The male was caught wandering around the roof while Rihanna was on the road with her Diamonds World Tour.

In February, Steveland Barrow was arrested and placed under a temporary restraining order after he tried to break into the star's house. However, he entered the wrong home and went on to sleep in Rihanna's neighbour's bed.

Last week, the 25-year-old revealed she is tired of the club scene and is ready for a simpler, calm life at home.

"Recently I've become a square. I hate partying. I don't know if it's my heels - I don't like standing up in my heels for hours. I don't know if it's that, but I've been so bored of it," she told UK TV show Chatty Man.

"I am such a bootleg rock star, I do nothing, literally. I'm embarrassed to say that actually. That's so disgusting. That's pathetic."
