Rihanna is joining The Voice as an advisor to the judges.
The 27-year-old singer will be featured on the upcoming ninth season of the US TV talent show.
Rihanna will be following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin by acting in an advisory capacity to judges Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell.
The news was announced by NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt at the TCA Press Tour in Beverly Hills on Thursday.
"We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall," Robert told reporters. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."
It was previously claimed that Rihanna was being courted by The Voice bosses to join the judging panel.
"The producers feel the best chance they have is with Rihanna and they would love that because they haven't had a black female judge yet, and the audience she would bring would be amazing and they know she would be incredible," an insider told HollywoodLife.com.
However, with all the spots filled, it was agreed that Rihanna's best role on the show would be as an advisor.
Rihanna is no stranger to reality television shows. She previously produced UK and US series' Styled to Rock, which focused on fashion design and gave contestants the chance to show off their unique sense of styles.
Rihanna has also had history with The Voice, having performed her hit single Diamonds on the finale of season three of the show, back in 2012.
