With the big show still hours away, Rihanna has started off the 2013 Grammy Awards with a bang — even if she isn't yet in attendance. The Unapologetic singer won the night's very first award, as "We Found Love" took home the Grammy for Best Short Form Video, beating out notables M.I.A. "Bad Girls" and the Throne's "No Church in the Wild."
A Grammy representative accepted the award on behalf of the Bajan songbird, who is surely getting set to tear down the house at Staples Center in Los Angeles with not one, but two performances. Rih Rih is expected to take the stage with Mikky Ekko to perform "Stay" from her latest LP and later will be hooking up with Bruno Mars, Sting, Ziggy and Damien Marley for a special tribute to reggae god Bob Marley.
Rihanna is also up for two more awards in the Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration categories for "Where Have You Been" and "Talk That Talk," respectively.
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards show will kick off at 8 p.m. ET Sunday, but before that, MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo will have all of the pre-Grammy festivities covered with a special red-carpet live stream featuring MTV News' Sway Calloway and James Montgomery, as well as Carrie Keagan from "Big Morning Buzz Live" and Jim Shearer from VH1's "Top 20 Countdown."
When the Grammy broadcast kicks off, our live stream will continue on as MTV late-night hosts Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer, along with "Best Week Ever" castmembers Amanda Seales and Nick Turner deliver live award-show commentary from the MTV headquarters in New York City.
