Rihanna has been "on edge" since her recent stalker trauma.
The songstress caused controversy last week when she was videoed hitting a fan with her microphone while she performed along the front row of a concert in Birmingham, UK.
The incident riled many, but a source close to Rihanna says she has been "on edge" since a stalker was arrested on the roof of house in Los Angeles last week.
"Rihanna's been very scared lately after numerous stalker threats. She's been getting bizarre messages from fans and knowing that someone was at her home has freaked her out," a source told British magazine Closer.
"She's on edge at the moment and that, coupled with her anger and heartbreak from her split with Chris Brown is making her behaviour erratic."
Rihanna admitted that she'd hit the overzealous fan at her concert "on purpose". An insider said the pop beauty felt she had no choice.
"She insisted the man was forceful and she had no choice. She was scared," the source explained.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has hit out at reports she is a bad role model.
Earlier this week British newspaper The Daily Mail published an article by Liz Jones in which she criticised the Barbadian singer for her raunchy outfits, public support of marijuana and hedonistic lifestyle.
Rihanna hit back on Instagram, berating claims that she ever signed up to be a "role model".
"I don't pretend that I'm like you, i just live... My life!! And I don't know why y'all still act so surprised by any of it!! "Role Model" is not a position or title that I have ever campaigned for, so chill wit dat! I got my own f**ked up sh*t to work on, (sic)," she wrote on the picture sharing site.
