Rihanna was reportedly in "floods of tears" when she heard about Whitney Houston's death.
Whitney was found unresponsive in a Los Angeles hotel on Saturday February 11 aged just 48. The iconic singer's death reportedly struck a chord with Rihanna and made her think about her own future.
"Rihanna was in floods of tears when she heard about Whitney, like she'd lost a member of her family. Whitney was a woman I'm sure Rihanna looked up to, and of course there are parallels with their lives," a source told British magazine more!
"She was a global star who enjoyed the lifestyle Rihanna loves – until she took a tragic wrong turn."
Rihanna is reportedly relating her own life to Whitney's tragic demise. Whitney's ex-husband Bobby Brown has been largely held responsible for the star's downfall, as she battled drug addiction following her union with him.
Rihanna has caused controversy of late with her reconciliation attempts with ex-partner Chris Brown following their messy break-up three years ago. They ended their romance in 2009 when Chris was charged with felony battery after attacking Rihanna.
"Rihanna's had her fair share of controversy," the insider added. "I think the Chris Brown episode taught her just how easy it is to get hurt and go down the wrong road.
"The danger of being so successful is that people stop telling you the truth, and when so much of your life is out of control, it's easy to feel helpless and alone."
