Following the long awaited release of her eighth studio album 'Anti', which arrived last week in a whirlwind of worldwide media fanfare, global pop superstar Rihanna is today confirmed to perform at The BRIT Awards 2016.
'Anti' has already gone platinum in the UK as well as hitting the #1 spot on iTunes in 30 countries, and her current single from the album 'Work' was #1 in 90 countries. With six BRITs nominations, and two BRIT Award wins for International Female Solo Artist, Rihanna's performance at this year's BRITs is bound to be nothing short of spectacular. This will be her fourth BRIT Awards performance: in 2008 she performed 'Umbrella' with The Klaxons, at the 2011 ceremony viewers were treated to a medley of 'Only Girl in The World', 'S&M' and 'What's My Name', and 2012 saw Rihanna's stunning rendition of 'We Found Love'. Rihanna will embark on a brand new UK stadium tour in June.
Also confirmed to perform at this year's BRITs are: Adele, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Jess Glynne, James Bay, The Weeknd and Little Mix.
The BRIT Awards 2016 with MasterCard will take place on Wednesday 24th February 2016 at London's O2 Arena and will be broadcast live on ITV. Ant & Dec will return as hosts.
MasterCard is celebrating its 18th year of sponsoring the BRITs with its Priceless Surprises campaign, which sees some of the biggest artists in the world helping fans to share their love of music. This year, BRIT Award-winning artist and producer, Mark Ronson, treated some of his biggest fans to the surprise of a lifetime when he selected six fans with unique covers of Uptown Funk on YouTube and invited them to the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, where he produced a joint cover of his hit record.
