Rihanna is seeking public closure on her break-up with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
The 24-year-old singer says the world has been "obsessed" with every detail of their tumultuous relationship since Chris was convicted of assaulting her in 2009.
And she's trying to understand why.
"To the world, I feel like there's no closure," she told American Vogue. "There's some obsession that's continued even throughout when we weren't friends or couldn't be friends at all. Hated each other."
The pair have rebuilt a friendship over the years.
Rumours of a reconciliation hit a high note when Chris dumped girlfriend Karrueche Tran earlier this month, citing his "friendship" with Rihanna as being partially to blame.
In the newly-released interview, conducted in August, the Barbadian pop star admits she's struggling to understand why the public is so interested.
"The world hasn't let go… So now it's a bit of a fascination, I guess. But they're not on the inside," she said, insisting, "They can't see what I see, unless they're sitting in my point of view. I guess I'll learn to accept that."
