Rita Ora & Charli XCX joined Dave Berry & Lisa Snowdon on this morning's Capital Breakfast show. The pair talked about The BRITs, The Grammy's, The Oscars and… Fifty Shades of Grey!
BRIT Awards
Dave: Rita, with your judging experience, who would you spin your chair around for out of the Male solo artist nominees, Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran?
Rita: That's really hard! Well you know what, they're both great. I think Ed made such an amazing album last year, and so did Sam. But because Sam swept up at the Grammy's, it'll only be fair that Ed gets a bit of love too. I love them both you know. In all honesty though, regardless of awards, I think it doesn't really matter because the work is so great you know…. But it's also good to win!
The Grammy's
Charli XCX: It was really long (the show). I cried during Kanye's performance. Also I was wearing this faux fur shawl thing, that was moulting all over Mary J Blidge who was sat in front of me. And I felt so bad because she just picking it off herself, but she couldn't figure out where it was coming from. And I was just like hiding behind her thinking 'Oh my God'! The after parties were fun though. I feel like when I left I was really rude to Diplo. I was shouting something like, 'you think you're really fashionable, you'd have a fashion line at K Mart'!
Fifty Shades of Grey
Rita:I have all 3 books, I'm one of their biggest fans. In the first book, my character really isn't in it that much. I always have been asked, 'can you do a mini cameo, it's never been like a supporting role. And I thought why not be a part of the biggest thing that's about to come out in 2015, regardless of if it's 10 seconds or 90 seconds!
Charli: She's really good at acting!
Lisa Snowdon: Can we have a blast of your American accent?
Rita: Noooo! I'm actually speaking French in that movie! Honestly, I don't want you guys to over talk about it, because it's just a little second alright? It gave me a lot of opportunities for other Hollywood things.
Preparing for The Oscars
Rita: For me, The Oscars is something that I don't really believe I'm doing! We start rehearsing next week with the orchestra. It's a really beautiful night, I just can't believe I'm performing in front of a bunch of big people!
