The singer's illness comes just six months after he had life-saving surgery for a blocked intestine.
According to UK newspaper Daily Mirror, Gibb's spokesman said: 'In the early morning he had terrible pain and was feeling very ill. A paramedic came out and he was taken to hospital.
'We are not sure what's wrong with him at this stage and are worried. We don't know if it is a recurrence of the previous problem or something else entirely.'
His twin brother Maurice died of the same condition 11 years ago.
Gibb is now back at his home and being looked after by his wife.
