Robin Thicke Blurs Lines at BET

Robin Thicke toned down his performance of Blurred Lines for the BET Awards Sunday night.

The singer's original music video for the single was so racy executives at YouTube banned it from airing in April.

The clip featured Robin surrounded by a gaggle of models as they stripped down to little more than nude underwear, cleverly covering themselves as they crossed the screen.

He eventually released a second, less provocative, version.

His performance as BET Sunday was also far more tame.

Robin was joined by collaborator Pharrell at the Los Angeles awards ceremony honouring black entertainment.

The performance started with the singer back-lit on a stage boasting his name in bold red letters

A trio of scantily clad back-up singers echoed his lyrics as Robin and Pharrell walked into the crowd.

T.I. then took the stage with a team of dancers wearing skimpy black shorts and crop tops.

Much to the relief of censors, the ladies all kept their clothes on.

The audience didn't seem to mind as the four-minute performance ended with a standing ovation for the trio.

Robin joked about the controversy surrounding Blurred Lines earlier this month.

The singer said his wife, actress Paula Patton, gave her seal of approval before he started work on the promo. He was also left rather unimpressed by his beautiful co-stars.

"There are three girls, so mathematically that's three pairs of boobs," Robin told Heat magazine.

"But, to be honest - and I've got to be honest - I've been around a lot of boobs. My wife has one of the most amazing pair of boobs you could ever see, so these ones didn't knock my socks off."
