Robin Thicke will reportedly attempt to win his estranged wife back during a performance at the Billboard Music Awards.
The ceremony is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, with Robin one of those taking to the stage. It's been claimed he is planning to go all out to woo Paula Patton, who he split from in February following an eight-year marriage, and has even penned a new track aimed at her.
According to TMZ, there can be no doubt the song was inspired by actress Paula. It's called Get Her Back and includes many lyrics which seemingly show how much Robin regrets the breakup.
"All I wanna do is make it right," he croons.
"I gotta get her, go get her back / I gotta treat her right / I gotta cherish her for life.
"I should've kissed you longer / I should've held you stronger / And I'll wait for forever for you."
It's not known if Robin will perform any other tracks on the night, although it seems likely his hit Blurred Lines will make an appearance. It has won him four nominations, including Top Digital Song and Top R&B Song, while his record of the same name is up for best R&R album. The musician is also vying for the Top R&B Artist gong.
Robin and Paula have never discussed the reasons for their split, although he has made no secret of his desire to work things out. He is thought to have lavished his estranged wife with gifts and also spoke about her at concerts, discussing the importance of forgiveness at one.
Paula discussed the breakup a little with the latest edition of Vanity Fair magazine, in which she refused to slam her ex.
"We've known each other since we were teenagers," she said. "All I can tell you is there's a deep love there - always was, and always will be."
