Rolling Stones bandmates Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards are helping each other quit drinking.
The two guitarists – whose relationship became strained after Ronnie left his wife of 23 years Jo for his now ex-lover Katia Ivanova because Keith disapproved of his actions – are reportedly giving each other moral support as they cope with life without booze.
Notorious hellraiser Keith, 66, reportedly stopped drinking after receiving advice from his doctor, while Ronnie is staying alcohol-free for new girlfriend Ana Araujo, 30.
A source told the Daily Express newspaper: "Keith and Ronnie haven't had much to do with one another but now they're back in touch. They've both given up alcohol recently so they can obviously relate to each other's situation. They've been giving one another plenty of mortal support."
Ronnie, 62, enjoyed a sober meal at top London restaurant Cipriani on Sunday (07.02.10), and is allegedly taking anti-craving tablets to help him stop drinking.
He apparently agreed to take the medication in a last-ditch effort to avoid being admitted to rehab.
A source said: "Rehab is a last resort - he wants to do cold turkey himself."
