The 63-year-old guitarist owns numerous properties across the UK including a home in Claygate, a large village located just outside London. Ronnie says that he is often courted by the locals of Claygate to play a game of cricket following a one off appearance at his local park.
The Rolling Stones legend was strolling through the village with Brazilian girlfriend Ana Araujo when accosted.
“We mix. I went for a walk with Ana in the local park and the cricket team asked me to join in. Now I’m getting notes through the door asking me to be the new batsman. I said I’d love to if I had the time. I’ve been practicing my bowling too,” he told Q magazine.
Despite the serene surroundings in Claygate, Ronnie explained he is forever on the move due to his inherent nomadic nature. As well as the home in Claygate, Ronnie owns property in Ireland as well as apartments in Chelsea located in West London and Hoxton in East London. Despite his age, Ronnie claims he needs these homes as he is used to being on the move following his days touring with the Stones.
“I’ve got a place in Hoxton, one in Claygate, an apartment in Chelsea and a house in Ireland. I’m very nomadic. I was born a water gypsy and touring is very nomadic. I’m mostly in Claygate, its ‘little old lady’ land. Plenty of old biddies, foxes and rabbits,” he said.
