The 63-year-old Rolling Stones star does not enjoy watching the show and said he feels sorry for the American public who are also getting their own version.
He said to UK newspaper Daily Star: 'No, I'm not a fan of The X Factor, I just want to know what Simon Cowell's talent is. I feel sorry for US audiences.'
However Wood did have a few nice words for his X Factor co-judge Cheryl Cole.
He said: 'I think the Americans will put up with Cheryl, sure, but they'll look at Simon and turn off. I'd definitely put up with Cheryl.'
