Ronnie Wood has been given the seal of approval by his girlfriend's father.
The 63-year-old Rolling Stones rocker has been given permission to marry 30-year-old Ana Araujo - who he began dating at the beginning of this year – by the Brazilian beauty's father Manuel Pinto, despite the decorator never having met the guitarist.
Manuel – who at 57 is six years Ronnie's junior – said: "My daughter Ana is wise and intelligent enough to make her own decisions. If she wants to go out with and even marry Ronnie Wood, I and her family support her. It doesn't matter if he is older than I am.
"We would like to meet Ronnie one day."
Ana – a polo instructor – had been planning to return to her family in Brazil in January but changed her mind after meeting Ronnie.
Her father added to the Daily Mail newspaper: "Ana was one of the best sellers of mobile phones the company had, but she didn't want to continue working in this profession. She has done very well in London."
Ana has been credited for helping Ronnie – who has had a long battle with alcoholism – stay sober and has previously spoken of her love for him.
She said recently: "I love him. He's a great man. He's very funny, has a great personality and is very smart. It's going very well.
"He is not drinking. He goes to rehab during the day."
Prior to meeting Ana, Ronnie had a tempestuous relationship with former waitress Katia Ivanova.
The couple – who started dating in 2008 while the musician was still married to Jo Wood, his wife of 24 years – went their separate ways in December following an explosive public row, which saw Ronnie subsequently receive a police caution for assault.
