Ronnie Wood joins Diesel-U-Music panel

Ronnie Wood and Mylo are just two of the judges that will choose the ultimate winners of the Diesel-U-Music awards this year.

The former Rolling Stone and acclaimed dance DJ will join an esteemed panel of judges to decide the world's best uncovered new music.

"Diesel-U-Music has uncovered some great names over the last six years and I'm really proud to be one of the judges for this year's contest," Ronnie said.

The event, which will be presented by Lauren Laverne, will see Ronnie, Mylo and Mark Ronson judging three different categories.

The UK finalists in the unsigned artist competition were chosen earlier this month during a national tour.

In the rock category - judged by Fierce Panda's Simon Williams - Edinburgh band The Very scooped the top prize.

Londoner Duke Dumont's electronic prowess wowed the dance judge Simon Harper, editor of Clash magazine.

And the urban judge, Dan Greenpeace from All City Music, was won over by hip-hop and grime artist iLLAMADi.

The three UK winners each won £2,000, as well as having their track playlisted on Xfm and a day's studio recording.
