Whether Ronnie Wood spoke a bit too enthusiastically or the media misunderstood what was being said, the fact is that the Rolling Stones are NOT preparing to go into the studio for a new album.
It was reported that Wood had said the Stones were entering the studio later this month to "just throw some ideas around" adding that getting the band back in shape was like training for the Olympics "so we're about to go into training."
Wood spoke to Billboard this past weekend while in Cleveland for the Faces' induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and he ended up having to clear up his statement.
"I heard from (Mick) Jagger; he's going, 'What the hell?! We don't know anything yet!' And I said, 'you know what (the media) are like. I just expressed my personal view; I would love to go into the studio.' Then they took it all wrong," he said.
He added, "So I have to make a personal apology to the rest of the band. I didn't mean to say things out of line."
