Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera has said he was “delighted” that Kanye West and Jay-Z sampled one of his solo songs on their new album 'Watch The Throne'.
The rapper's have used the guitar riff from his 1976 song 'K-Scope' for the basis of a track called 'No Church In The Wild'.
He said: “ I never saw this coming and I’m delighted. When I was first contacted about who wanted to use the riff, I did wonder if it was some sort of hoax as the rap world and my music are not natural bedfellows, but this great track has proved otherwise.”
West and Jay-Z's much-anticipated new album is due to be released on August 8.
It also includes collaborations with Jay-Z's wife Beyonce, Frank Ocean and Mr Hudson.
