Heavy work schedules are said to be causing a rift between the married pair, the New York Daily News reported.
A source said: 'They are working through relationship troubles caused primarily by work schedules that keep them apart.
According to Showbiz Spy, there were rumours of a rift back in May, again over work commitments.
'Nothing is going to change unless Scarlett and Ryan can learn to compromise, and they won’t,' an insider said.
'Scarlett won’t cancel anything she has coming up or wants to go to, and neither will Ryan.'
Reps for Reynolds and Johansson denied the actors' marriage was troubled.
