Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson swapped make-up tips on the set of 'The Spirit'.
The Hollywood stars shared a trailer while filming the live action comic book adventure and enjoyed "playing around" with their characters' appearances.
Samuel laughed: "Well, we shared a make-up trailer, you know..."
Scarlett added to BANG Showbiz: "Yeah - so we shared a hair and make-up trailer and among eyeliner and other things, we also shared make-up ideas - we'd come to the set and both of us would have ideas of how we wanted to
play around with our characters' looks.
"Then we'd show it to the director Frank Miller and he would say, 'I like that' and we'd think of how to put it into the film."
Frank revealed he adapted the character of Silken Floss - who in the original comic book series was much older - because he was so keen for Scarlett to star in the movie.
He said: "I re-wrote Silken Floss completely to reflect something I saw in Scarlett, which was blindingly obvious but I hadn't see many directors use which was her sense of comic timing, her wry humours and thought OK, the character is kind of a repressed astrophysicist, but how did she spend her 20s. And I thought Scarlett would be perfect."
