The Iron Man 2 star – who is not on Facebook or Twitter – said she is baffled by people who post personal details about their lives online, especially actors.
She said: 'I can't think of anything I'd rather do less than have to continuously share details of my everyday life.
'I'm always surprised that certain actors have Twitter accounts.
'I guess they use them in a way that works for them. But I would rather that people had less access to my personal life.
'If I could keep it that way, I would be a happy lady.'
The 27-year-old He’s Just Not That Into You star told a US magazine: 'I don't have a Facebook or a Twitter account, and I don't know how I feel about this idea of [saying], 'Now I'm eating dinner and I want everyone to know I'm having dinner' or, 'I just mailed a letter and dropped off my kids'.
“That, to me, is a very strange phenomenon.'
Johansson hit the headlines earlier this year after naked pictures she’d taken of herself for her then-husband Ryan Reynolds were hacked and leaked online.
