School Of Seven Bells release an alternate version of the acclaimed album 'Alpinisms' on 23rd November and have announced a headline show at London's ICA on the 4th December.
The reworked 'Alpinisms' is available on download only and comprised of early demos, live performances and alternative versions of eight album tracks. It's an intriguing listen as the process of the band's songwriting and production is unraveled. This edition also has a bonus track, the mysterious 'Caldo' sung in both English and Spanish (Claudia and Alejandra hail from both Central and South America). Previously a b-side to single 'Half Asleep', this song places more emphasis on the vocals than usual, revealing a cosmic medieval hymn backed by futuristic yet somehow ancient synths and harpsichord.
The band play a one off London show at the ICA on 4th December, where they will showcase new material from the forthcoming album (due in early Spring 2010) before heading off to appear at the My Bloody Valentine curated ATP.
