New York's finest, Scissor Sisters release their new single, 'She's My Man', on 5th March through Polydor Records.
'She's My Man' is joyous glam-rock-disco shakedown and has already become a live favourite with fans.
The song is based on a woman called Annie Christmas, who was a New Orleans folk legend. Jake Shears explains the story: "She was a huge lady, a riverboat pirate, a thief and a killer who passed herself off as a man. This song is from the point of view of someone who is in love with her… I'm completely fascinated by New Orleans. It's a city built by whores and thieves. It fascinates me – I'm very inspired by the music that's come out of the city. I think you can hear that on the record."
'She's My Man' is taken from Scissor Sisters #1 album 'Ta-Dah'. The album has already sold an incredible 1.2 million copies in four months in the UK alone. The album has also topped charts across Europe and Australia.
Scissor Sisters recently made their acting debut on zany US soap opera 'Passions'. The show has built up a huge cult following over the years. Ana is a massive fan of the show and has been lobbying to be on it since the band started. The band perform 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' and 'Land Of A Thousand Words' in the show's fictional club 'The Blue Note.'
Scissor Sisters will be back in the UK with the 'Kiss You Off' tour in July. They will be playing the London 02 Arena on July 26th and 27th and the Manchester Evening News Arena on 30th and 31st.
