From the orange carpet to all that green slime, it's clear from the very beginning that the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards definitely isn't your average awards show. Rather than the dolled-up formalities of the Oscars, the Globes, and even the Grammys, Saturday (March 23) night's silly vibe marked a chance for everyone to let loose.
Despite the casual environment, however, the stars still pulled out all the fashion in a rainbow-colored spectrum of designer wares. "Favorite Female Singer" winner Katy Perry topped the Best Dressed list in her Herve Leger bra top and pencil skirt, which was splashed with blue and white abstract print. The midriff-baring look, while decidedly daring, managed to stay within the family-friendly parameters, thanks to a modest bottom and some classic pumps.
Other attendees who got in on the bright pattern game included Fergie in a Mary Katrantzou dress, Victoria Justice in Pia Pauro and Miranda Cosgrove in Stella McCartney.

Although many celebrities went for bold and bright frocks, others showed some serious leg in short shorts. Kristen Stewart led the trend in a shorts outfit by British-born designer Osman Yousefzada. The "Favorite Movie Actress" winner sported her separates ensemble with high heels on the carpet, but she soon traded them in for her signature sneakers at the show (after getting slimed). "Favorite TV Actress" winner Selena Gomez also eschewed a dress for white shorts and a baby blue peplum top, both by Oscar de la Renta. Then, there was Ke$ha, who made major waves on the orange carpet in a Elton John-meets-Willy Wonka-esque baby blue suit. She matched with her little brother Louie Sebert (his suit was orange), and accessorized her look with a top hat, cane, and bedazzled sunglasses. Proving that one traffic-stopping outfit isn't enough, the singer later changed into a patchwork fur ensemble and black shorts for her "C'Mon" performance mid-show.
Despite these style consistencies, there's no denying it: the biggest trend of the night was undoubtedly the goopy green slime.
