Selena Gomez takes out restraining order against alleged stalker

Police say Brodnicki, 46, has a history of mental illness, as well as a criminal record.

The mugshot – from an arrest in a case also connected with stalking – was taken in Illinois, in 2008.

According to legal documents filed by lawyers for Gomez, Brodnicki told a psychiatrist that he had had conversations with God about killing the Disney star.

Brodnicki is also accused of travelling to Los Angeles from Chicago three times to try to meet the 19-year-old singer-actress while she was at work.

Brodnicki reportedly revealed his bizarre thoughts to doctors while he was being held for psychiatric observation after allegedly threatening “to scratch people’s eyes out on the street”.

Brodnicki also has a history of stalking women, and was sentenced to three years in prison for cyber-stalking.

The restraining order obtained by Gomez, who is dating teen pop star Justin Bieber, states that Brodnicki must stay 100 yards away from her at all times.
